The 6th Annual Los Angeles Improv Dance Festival (iD Fest 2010)

A week of movement workshops, performances, and jams in sunny Venice, California. The festival is an exploration and celebration of improvisational movement styles and alternative dance techniques; featuring Contact Improvisation, performance structure, ensemble movement, and integrating sound, voice, and sets into performance. Featuring an all-male cast this year, with special guest artists Scott Wells & Dancers, Charlie Morrissey, Rudy Perez and many more. See Instructor Bios or Workshop Descriptions
Green Theatre Space: ELECTRIC LODGE in Venice, is a historic building and former Masonic Lodge, outfitted as a solar-powered facility that actually generates more power than it consumes.
Performance Collaboration Workshop: iDfest students have an opportunity to workshop to performance with reknown improvisational artists. Instructors will set movement scores and performance work with students while also practicing and developing dance and Contact Improvisation skills.
(h)improv Collaboration Performances: A celebration of male energy in dance - A full weekend of improvisational dance performance mixed with collaboratively generated work, matching up iDfest’s reknown special guest artists with local talent to collaborate on new improvisation structures, crossing disciplines, and creating new territory. This year’s focus is celebrating masculine energy in movement with a (mostly) all male cast. Stay tuned for the lineup, different each show, come to all!
